The Lake Bastrop C.A.S.T. for Kids event being held on May 6, 2017 is in need of boat captains and we hope you will consider getting involved.
our event provides an opportunity for 40 participants from the local area to enjoy the experience of fishing. We supply each participant with a t-shirt, tackle box, fishing pole, & worms. All of which they get to keep. Each participant is fitted with a life vest for the event as well. Participants will have at least one guardian with them while on the boat.
The days events look something like this:
7:00 – 7:45am Boat Captain Registration and Boat Launching / Breakfast Tacos, donuts, coffee will be available
7:45 – 8:00am Safety Meeting for Boat Captains
8:00 – 9:00am Participants begin registration and are immediately matched up with a Boat Captain. Photo to be taken, at a designated location, of Participant and Boat Captain before leaving on the boat. (Picture will be placed in a plaque which is presented to the participant by the Boat Captain at the end of the event)
8:00 – 11:00 Fishing time. Please try to be back on shore by 11am so we can get everyone in the Group Photo.
11:00 Group Photo
11:30am – Lunch provided. Hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, ice cream, & drinks.
12:00pm – Plaque presentation. Event ends once all participants have been presented with their plaque.
You can access registration at http://castforkids.org/event/lakebastrop/ Scroll down to the “Register as Boat Captain” button. You will receive a confirmation email upon successful registration.
Each Boat Captain will receive a C.A.S.T. t-shirt. T-shirts must be ordered 6 weeks before the event. Please register before March 23, 2017, to ensure you are able to receive your t-shirt size. Unfortunately, if you register after March 23, 2017, shirts will be available but sizes cannot be guaranteed.
