FAN Central held its second qualifier of the season on Lake Belton on Saturday. Due to low water levels and high winds, it was yet another trailering event this season. With over 279 student anglers and captains attending, we were truly blessed with beautiful weather conditions. 93 teams gave it their best effort for a shot at the win and also for those crucial AOY points and the chance to qualify for the 2022-2023 Championship with over $15,000 in scholarships and the coveted Angler(s) of the Year title.
Riley Kudelka and Trace Jansen with Captain Sid Mueller of 5th Day Anglers took the win with a 5-fish limit weighing 10.96 pounds. They both took home a plaque, Kistler Rods, and valuable points. Captain Mueller won the Academy Sports+Outdoors Gift Card. – Good job team!
Taking the second place spot were Liberty Hill Fishing Team anglers Michael Evans and Holt Avery (2021-2022 Central AOY) with Captain Lee Evans. They brought 5 bass to the scales weighing 10.38 lbs and also weighed in the Kistler Big Bass at 4.35 lbs. They each took home a plaque and Abu Garcia Revo X reels.
Bass Club of Champions showed up on Saturday placing third with team Ethan Jensen, Christopher Buchanan, and Captain Jason Murphree. They brought in 5 fish weighing a total of 9.87 pounds. They each won a Kistler reel in addition to plaques and a chance to head to the Championship in May.
