FAN HSF “Last Chance” Wild Card Tournament Presented by Amenity Solutions April 27th on Lake LBJ

FAN HSF “Last Chance” Wild Card Tournament Presented by Amenity Solutions April 27th  on Lake LBJ with a $1000.00 Scholarship top award.

With the qualifiers out of the way for the Central and South Division it comes down to one LAST CHANCE to sneak in to the FAN State Championship hosted by Visit Conroe May 18/19

FAN is excited to announce that the 2018-19 Championship will be held on Lake Conroe and hosted by Visit Conroe May 18th-19th, 2019. We will be recognizing the best middle and high school anglers in Central and South Texas and awarding over $10,000 in scholarships and prizes. All qualifiers will receive a free entry to the championship tournament.

The Wild Card Tournament Details

The Wild Card tournament will be a NON-POINTS tournament where FAN will award the top 5 teams that have not already qualified by way of points. The wild card tournament will also be essential for any angler that finished in a top 10% of a qualifier but still needs one more tournament to meet your two tournament minimum requirement for your division to qualify for the Championship

We are excited to continue this  element to the FAN HSF Schedule this year. We wanted to do something fun and different that allowed those student anglers who were not able to compete during one of the qualifiers to have another shot at qualifying for the Championship. Added to that our anglers love fishing Lake LBJ, and fishing LBJ in April could possibly set new records for FAN and most definitely personal best for our student anglers as this lake is as hot as it gets this time of year.
And to top it off, we will award the winning team a $1,000 Scholarship thanks to our Sponsor Amenity Solutions

FAN returns to Llano County Park on Lake Buchanan for event #3 March 2, 2019

With a bit of weather and lake management issues we had to pivot from LBJ and make a move up the chain of Highland Lakes to Lake Buchanan “We are excited to see some quality bass brought to the scales again stated Justin Rieger. FAN Director of Technology ” Last spring Buchanan delivered a 27.99 record limit including the Kistler Big Bass at 9.80 large mouth with the top 4 teams bringing in a 20 plus pound bag of bass.  This 22,000 surface acre lake is prime to produce some great fishing for the student anglers again this spring. Justin said.

Be sure to watch our video of Llano County Park from 2016 to get a first-hand view of the park and what to expect tournament morning HERE. And remember to get there early and launch your boat we anticipate a long line on the two lane ramp.
And thanks to our friends at LBCC for everything they do to keep Lake Buchanan a top quality fishery.

FAN High School Fishing 2019 Championship Announcement

High School Fishing Championship to be Held at Famous Lake Conroe

Austin, TX: Since 2008, Faith Angler Network (FAN) has been hosting competitive and professionally run bass fishing tournaments, and youth outreach events, that embrace the power faith and fishing can have on the lives of middle and high school students. The all-volunteer staff of FAN’s Central and South Texas divisions are committed to building character, inspiring faith-seeking, encouraging competitive sportsmanship, and developing well-rounded leaders.

“We are thrilled to bring the FAN High School Fishing Championship to Lake Conroe, hosted by Visit Conroe,” stated Jeff Cook, Executive Director of FAN. “Shannon Overby and the Visit Conroe team have rolled out the red carpet and are as excited as we are to bring the Championship to this world class fishery,” Jeff said.

Lake Conroe has hosted some of the top fishing tournaments in the country The 2017 GEICO Bassmaster Classic and The Toyota Texas Bass Classic were held on Lake Conroe for five consecutive years from 2009 –2013 and recently MLF Bass Pro Tour names Lake Conroe as Its second destination on the 2019 schedule Feb. 12-17 which makes it very exciting for FAN to hold our championship on a nationally recognized fishery.

The 21,000-acre fishery located off the West Fork of San Jacinto River in Montgomery and Walker counties has a very healthy largemouth bass population in an equally healthy ecosystem with excellent water quality. This translates not only into good numbers of bass, but good numbers of big bass with favorable odds of some double-digits that could be weighed in during the FAN Championship. Seventeen largemouth bass over 13 pounds have been entered into the Toyota ShareLunker Program with the most recent in 2015, and the lake is prime to add to the count.
Conroe, recently named the fastest growing city in the United States, has a great mix of attractions and experiences you just can’t find anywhere else. It is located 40 miles north of Houston amidst the piney woods of Southeast Texas. It is bordered by a 22,000-acre lake with 156 miles of continuous shoreline, the Sam Houston National Forest, and the W. Goodrich Jones State Forest. While primarily known as an outdoors-man’s paradise, Conroe also offers a distinctive and thriving arts and cultural scene. Montgomery County, of which Conroe is the county seat, is the birthplace of the Texas flag. Historic downtown Conroe is home to arts, culture, shopping, and local dining.
Visit Conroe is proud to partner with Faith Angler Network to host the Faith Angler Network High School Fishing State Championship. “We look forward to a successful event and a long-term partnership,” Stated Shannon Overby, Director of Visit Conroe.
