Presented by Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops.

The Faith Angler Network (FAN) kicked off its high school fishing season on Lake Belton with literal electricity—predawn lightning crackling across the sky. As the sun broke the horizon, a beautiful rainbow arched over the water, a glorious blessing to start the day.

While the main tournament unfolded, FAN hosted its inaugural fishing derby, delivering fun and excitement for participants seeking a lighter competitive vibe.
Derby Highlights Congratulations to Chase Greer, representing the Lake Travis Fishing Team, for dominating both categories on artificial bait: most fish and biggest fish caught. On the live bait side, Brody Anderson of the Liberty Hill Fishing Team claimed victories in most and biggest fish. Each champion took home a trophy and two $50 Cabela’s/Bass Pro Shops gift cards.Truly, every student angler was a winner, sharing in the day’s events, fellowship, and camaraderie with teammates and friends
As the weather shifted from morning sprinkles to a perfect fall afternoon, competitors headed to the FAN Stage to weigh their catches and cheer one another on.
