The Faith Angler Network (FAN) held its second qualifier of the season on December 13th at Coleto Creek. The morning began with heavy fog, resulting in a one-hour delay. Once conditions improved, teams gathered for the National Anthem and a prayer before launching 70 teams onto the water for what proved to be a challenging winter bite.
Despite tough conditions, anglers showed perseverance, sportsmanship, and faith throughout the day.

🎣 Junior Angler Spotlight
Congratulations to James Mejia, representing the Boerne Bass Club. James landed a 1.14-pound bass, earning both Biggest Fish and Most Fish honors in the live bait category.

This event marked a special milestone for FAN as we officially welcomed the Junior Division (ages 6–10) into competition through a shore fishing derby. Seeing young anglers participate and succeed was a highlight of the day.

About Jeremy Affeldt
Jeremy Affeldt is a former Major League Baseball pitcher, best known for his 14-year MLB career and his time with the San Francisco Giants, where he was a key contributor to three World Series championship teams (2010, 2012, 2014). Respected for both his performance and leadership, Jeremy used his platform in baseball to impact others far beyond the field.
At our event, Jeremy reminded our anglers, families, and captains that while not everyone is called to be a missionary or a preacher, everyone has a platform. Through the way we act, carry ourselves, and interact with friends, parents, teachers, and teammates, we have daily opportunities to make a difference and point others toward Christ.
Jeremy challenged everyone with two simple but powerful questions:
Are you making a difference?
Do you recognize the platform God has given you to make that difference?
