FAN Family after much thought, prayer and in abundance of caution we have canceled the FAN south qualifier on Choke Canyon April 4th. Per the mandate from Governor Abbott’s office restricting public gathering to no more than 10 people.
With this news and being responsible to help mitigate the spread of the virus to family and friend who are at high risk we are postponing the Championship date as well. Please allow us time to determine where and when this can take place. As of today, venues and locations are not accepting requests.
In an effort to be fair to the South Division who will not have a chance to compete we are going to adjust our qualifying components accordingly.
Any angler that finished in the top 20% of any qualifying tournament in either the Central or South Division will automatically qualify -no minimum # events required.
Regarding qualifying by means of angler of the year points, we will take the top 60% versus the original top 50% percent in the final year to date point standing in each division as published on the FAN website YTD standings.
We feel this is a fair approach for all the anglers that competed this season.
FAN Family we hope you all know how difficult this is, unfortunately it is out of our control and we Pray for everyone and their families as we navigate these uncertain times.
